Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
Select the correct motor voltage and configuration for your installation. A GFCI-protected circuit is required. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor, and always disconnect power whenever swimmers are present. The Floating AquaSweep is designed to create a strong surface current for moving floating debris and is not designed to move muck along the bottom.
Scott Aerator Floating AquaSweep®
The Floating AquaSweep® is designed to create a strong surface current that moves floating algae, leaves, trash, and other organic debris toward an area where it can be collected and removed. Its floating design works well around waterfronts, docks, canals, and other areas where keeping the surface clear is a priority.
The AquaSweep is available with 1/3 HP, 1/2 HP, 3/4 HP, and 1 HP oil-free motors. Depending on the motor configuration, the unit moves between 300 and 500 gallons per minute and can push debris from 40 to 75 feet. The floating platform can be adjusted for changing water levels and directional flow.
Built with stainless steel and high-density polyurethane components, the AquaSweep is approved for salt water and requires little routine maintenance. The unit is designed for year-round installation and can be left installed during winter when power is disconnected as needed.
Configuration Guide
Floating AquaSweep 1/3 HP
Available in 115V or 230V with a 300 GPM flow rate. The 1/3 HP model pushes debris over 40 feet and draws 8 amps at 115V or 4 amps at 230V.
The supplied power cord is 35 feet long, 12-gauge, and submersible.
Floating AquaSweep 1/2 HP
Available in 115V or 230V with a 400 GPM flow rate. The 1/2 HP model pushes debris over 50 feet and draws 10 amps at 115V or 5 amps at 230V.
The supplied power cord is 35 feet long, 12-gauge, and submersible.
Floating AquaSweep 3/4 HP
Available in 115V or 230V with a 450 GPM flow rate. The 3/4 HP model pushes debris over 60 feet and draws 10.7 amps at 115V or 6.8 amps at 230V.
The supplied power cord is 35 feet long. The 115V version uses 10-gauge cable, while the 230V version uses 12-gauge cable.
Floating AquaSweep 1 HP
Available in 115V or 230V with a 500 GPM flow rate. The 1 HP model pushes debris over 75 feet and draws 11.5 amps at 115V or 8.2 amps at 230V.
The supplied power cord is 35 feet long. The 115V version uses 10-gauge cable, while the 230V version uses 12-gauge cable.
Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Floating Assembly
The floating kit includes the AquaSweep housing and bracket, stainless steel debris shield, float platform, two 3-inch eyebolts with washers and lock nuts, three self-tapping screws, and two 3/8-inch by 50-foot braided nylon ropes.
Angle Adjustment
The float bracket can be tilted to set the desired water flow direction. The assembly guide identifies approximately 45 degrees as a typical starting position, with the angle adjustable to suit the installation.
Rope Securement
The included nylon ropes are secured to the loops in the white rope and then attached as low as possible to docks or pilings. Rope tension can be adjusted to position the AquaSweep where it works best. If the float tends to rise while operating, the rope loops can be moved lower.
Water Depth
The Floating AquaSweep is intended for use where there is adequate water depth for the unit. The assembly guide recommends positioning the unit approximately 4 inches from the bottom and specifies a minimum water depth of 12 inches for AquaSweep installations.
Electrical Installation
Connect the AquaSweep to a standard 110V or 230V receptacle protected by a GFCI. Extension cords must not be used to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power before making adjustments and whenever swimmers are present.
Maintenance & Winter Operation
Routine Maintenance
The AquaSweep requires very little routine maintenance. The manufacturer recommends changing the propeller assembly approximately every three years. When the unit is removed from the water for propeller replacement, wash it with high-pressure water and inspect the entire unit for anything that could restrict water flow.
Winter Operation
The AquaSweep is engineered for year-round operation and can remain installed through winter with the power disconnected. If the unit is removed from the pond or lake, the manufacturer recommends storing the pump submerged in a 5-gallon bucket of water to help prevent damage to the pump seals.
Stainless Steel Hardware Care
The assembly guide specifies periodic lubrication of the stainless steel thumb screws using the supplied lubricating compound. This helps maintain proper operation and is required for warranty validation.
Warranty
5-Year Motor Warranty
Standard Scott Aerator products are covered by a 5-year warranty against motor defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions.
Other product components are covered by a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.
