A Note Before You Order

Choose the correct voltage for your installation. The compressor must be connected to a GFCI-protected outlet, and an extension cord should not be used. The compressor should also be protected from rain, snow, flooding, and other harsh weather conditions. For electrical installation, follow local electrical requirements and the manufacturer's installation instructions.

Scott Aerator Bubble Pro Subsurface Aerator

The Bubble Pro is a subsurface aeration system designed to increase oxygen levels and circulate pond water while keeping the equipment out of sight below the surface. Two diffuser assemblies sit near the bottom of the pond and release fine air bubbles that rise through the water column. As the bubbles rise, they create an upward current that brings deeper water toward the surface for natural oxygen replenishment.

The system includes a 1/4 HP rocking-piston compressor, two diffusers, two 100-foot lengths of 3/8-inch quick-sink weighted tubing, a valved air outlet assembly, pressure relief valve, fittings, and clamps. The Bubble Pro is available in 115V and 230V configurations and can also be used as a de-icer in cold climates.

Coverage & Configuration Guide

Bubble Pro 115V

The 115V Bubble Pro includes the complete two-diffuser aeration system with a 1/4 HP rocking-piston compressor, two 100-foot weighted air lines, and individual air controls.

Model MPN: 44010. UPC: 810094921507.

Bubble Pro 230V

The 230V version provides the same two-diffuser configuration with a 1/4 HP rocking-piston compressor and is intended for installations using 230V electrical service.

Model MPN: 44010.23. UPC: 810094928551.

Recommended Coverage by Pond Depth

At 5 to 8 feet of pond depth, the Bubble Pro can cover approximately 1/2 acre.

At 9 to 12 feet of pond depth, coverage increases to approximately 1 acre.

At 13 to 16 feet of pond depth, coverage can reach approximately 2 acres.

Installation & Assembly

Included Components

The Bubble Pro kit includes one 1/4 HP compressor, two self-weighted diffuser bases, two diffuser membranes, two 100-foot rolls of 3/8-inch self-weighted air tubing, a double valve assembly, two barbed check valve fittings, four hose clamps, and two padded hose clamps.

Diffuser Placement

The diffuser should not normally be positioned at the deepest point of the pond. The installation guide recommends placing the diffuser at approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of the deepest point. This helps leave the deepest water cooler during summer and warmer during winter.

Compressor Placement

The compressor should be installed inside a properly ventilated shelter that protects it from rain, snow, flooding, and other harsh weather. It should not sit directly on the ground, and shaded placement is preferred when possible.

Assembly

Assemble the diffusers, install the compressor inlet filter and outlet assembly, unroll the tubing, and secure the tubing connections with the supplied clamps. Open the valves fully before powering the compressor, then adjust each valve to balance airflow between the two diffusers.

Operation & Maintenance

Continuous Operation

The compressor is designed for continuous operation and may run 24 hours per day. Continuous operation helps maintain circulation and oxygen distribution throughout the pond.

Compressor Maintenance

Routine maintenance consists of keeping the compressor filter clean and replacing wearable components such as diaphragms, piston rings, or vanes when needed. The compressor is designed for oil-free operation and should never be oiled or lubricated.

Seasonal Startup

If the pond is strongly stratified when the system is first installed or started, the manufacturer recommends gradually increasing operating time during the first week rather than immediately running the system continuously. This allows the deeper water to mix progressively.

Winter Use

Use caution when operating a diffused aeration system during winter. Water movement can create thin ice in areas away from the diffusers, so the pond should be clearly marked and others warned about potentially unsafe ice conditions.

Safety & Electrical Requirements

GFCI Protection

The compressor must be connected to a GFCI-protected outlet. Always disconnect power before servicing the system and relieve pressure from the system before performing service work.

Extension Cords

The manufacturer advises against using an extension cord to operate the compressor. Follow the specified electrical requirements for the selected 115V or 230V configuration.

Operating Compressor

The compressor surface becomes hot during operation. Keep children and pets away from operating equipment and avoid touching the compressor while it is running.

Warranty

2-Year Warranty

The Bubble Pro is covered by a 2-year warranty according to the manufacturer's product information. Refer to the manufacturer's warranty terms for complete coverage details and conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question Answer
What does the Bubble Pro do? It uses bottom-mounted diffusers to release fine air bubbles that create upward water circulation and help replenish oxygen throughout the pond.
How many diffusers are included? The standard Bubble Pro includes two self-weighted diffuser assemblies.
How much pond area can the Bubble Pro aerate? Coverage depends on pond depth. The system is rated for approximately 1/2 acre at 5 to 8 feet, 1 acre at 9 to 12 feet, and 2 acres at 13 to 16 feet.
What voltage options are available? The Bubble Pro is available in both 115V and 230V configurations.
Can the Bubble Pro run continuously? Yes. The compressor is designed for continuous operation, and the manufacturer recommends continuous operation to maintain circulation.
Where should the diffusers be placed? The installation guide recommends placing the diffuser at approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of the pond's deepest point rather than directly at the deepest location.
Does the compressor need protection from weather? Yes. The compressor should be protected from rain, snow, flooding, and other harsh weather and should be installed in a properly ventilated shelter.
Does the Bubble Pro require a GFCI? Yes. The compressor must be connected to a GFCI-protected outlet.
Can I use an extension cord? No. The manufacturer advises against using an extension cord to operate the compressor.
Can the Bubble Pro be used as a de-icer? Yes. Scott Aerator states that the Bubble Pro can also be used as a de-icer in cold climates.
What maintenance does the compressor require? Keep the filter clean and replace wearable components such as diaphragms, piston rings, or vanes when necessary. The compressor is oil-free and should not be lubricated.
