Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
Choose the correct 115V or 230V configuration for your installation. The compressor is installed on shore and sends air through weighted tubing to the bottom-mounted diffusers, so there are no electrical components placed in the water. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and use appropriate electrical protection for the installation.
Scott Aerator Bubble Pro Max Subsurface Aerator
The Bubble Pro Max is a bottom-diffused pond aeration system designed to improve water circulation and oxygen transfer while keeping the equipment and visible activity below the water's surface. A shore-mounted compressor sends air through weighted tubing to three diffuser stations positioned on the pond bottom. As the air rises through the water column, it creates an upward current that moves lower-oxygen water toward the surface for reoxygenation.
The Bubble Pro Max uses a 1/2 HP rocking-piston compressor and includes three double diffusers, three 100-foot lengths of 3/8-inch quick-sink weighted tubing, a triple valve assembly, pressure relief protection, fittings, and clamps. The system is available in 115V and 230V configurations and can also be used as a pond de-icing system in cold-weather conditions.
Coverage & Sizing Guide
5 to 8 Feet Pond Depth
The Bubble Pro Max is rated to cover approximately 3/4 acre when operating in ponds with water depths from 5 to 8 feet.
9 to 12 Feet Pond Depth
At pond depths from 9 to 12 feet, the Bubble Pro Max is rated to cover approximately 1-1/2 acres.
13 to 16 Feet Pond Depth
At pond depths from 13 to 16 feet, the Bubble Pro Max is rated to cover approximately 3 acres.
Sizing Consideration
Actual aeration requirements depend on pond depth, shape, water conditions, and the location of the diffuser stations. The coverage figures above are manufacturer-listed guidelines for the Bubble Pro Max system.
Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Compressor Installation
The compressor is installed on shore in a suitable location and connected to the diffuser system through the supplied weighted airline tubing. The system is designed so that no electrical equipment is placed in the pond.
Diffuser Assembly
Each diffuser assembly uses a self-weighted base, diffuser membranes, a barbed check valve fitting, hose clamp, and padded hose clamp. The supplied components are assembled before the diffuser stations are positioned on the pond bottom.
Tubing Connection
The three weighted tubing sections connect the individual diffuser stations to the triple valve assembly at the compressor. The valves allow airflow to each diffuser to be adjusted independently.
Placement
The diffuser assemblies are lowered to the pond bottom using the base and should not be lifted by the diffuser membranes. Refer to the included Specs & Assembly instructions for the complete installation procedure.
Operation & Winter Use
Subsurface Aeration
The diffuser membranes release fine air bubbles from the pond bottom. As the bubbles rise, they create upward water movement that brings lower-oxygen water toward the surface for natural oxygen exchange.
Continuous Operation
The rocking-piston compressor is designed for demanding continuous-duty operation. Consistent aeration helps maintain circulation and oxygen movement throughout the water column.
Winter De-Icing
The Bubble Pro Max can also be used for pond de-icing. Air movement from the bottom diffusers helps circulate water and can maintain an open area during cold-weather conditions.
Initial Operation
When introducing diffused aeration to an established pond, gradual startup is recommended to allow the pond ecosystem to adjust to increased circulation. Follow the manufacturer's guidance for initial operating time and increase operation progressively toward continuous use.
