Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
Choose the correct solar system configuration for your pond before ordering. The 2-panel system uses a 1/2 HP, 48-volt motor and provides up to 200 GPM, while the 4-panel system uses a 3/4 HP, 100-volt motor and provides up to 300 GPM. A vertical pole, concrete footing for the solar panel frame, and two weighted anchoring lines are required for installation and are not included with the system.
Scott Aerator Solar Boilermaker Aerator
The Solar Boilermaker Aerator provides pond aeration for locations where running conventional electrical service is difficult or impractical. Its solar-powered, low-profile design circulates large volumes of water while transferring oxygen throughout the pond, helping support healthier water conditions and the breakdown of organic matter.
The system is available in two configurations. The 2-panel model uses a 1/2 HP, 48-volt oil-free motor and provides up to 200 gallons per minute. The 4-panel model uses a 3/4 HP, 100-volt motor and provides up to 300 gallons per minute. Both configurations use variable-speed operation that adjusts to available sunlight, allowing the system to operate without a battery bank.
The complete system includes the Boilermaker Aerator, solar panels with frame, disconnect box, Fhoton™ drive solar inverter, and required wiring components. The unit is designed for daytime operation, approved for fresh and salt water, and can remain in the pond through winter with the power turned off during freezing conditions.
Configuration Guide
2-Panel Solar Boilermaker Aerator
The 2-panel configuration includes two 340-watt, 60-cell high-efficiency monocrystalline solar panels and a 1/2 HP, 48-volt oil-free motor.
The system provides up to 200 gallons per minute and requires a minimum pond depth of 36 inches.
The motor operates at 60 Hz, three-phase, 3,450 RPM and draws 10.3 amps at 48 volts.
4-Panel Solar Boilermaker Aerator
The 4-panel configuration includes four 340-watt, 60-cell high-efficiency monocrystalline solar panels and a 3/4 HP, 100-volt oil-free motor.
The system provides up to 300 gallons per minute and requires a minimum pond depth of 44 inches.
The motor operates at 60 Hz, three-phase, 3,450 RPM and draws 8.3 amps at 100 volts.
Solar Operation
The Solar Boilermaker is designed for daytime aeration. The solar panels provide power according to available sunlight, and the variable-speed system gradually adjusts water flow as solar input changes. The system shuts down after dark and does not require a battery bank for normal operation.
Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Included Components
The solar system includes the Boilermaker Aerator, two or four solar panels with frame, disconnect box, Fhoton™ drive solar inverter, and required wiring components. The vertical support pole, concrete footing, and anchoring weights or tethers must be supplied separately.
Solar Panel Installation
The solar array is installed on a support structure with the required panel frame and wiring. The installation manual recommends positioning the panels for appropriate solar exposure and keeping the Fhoton™ drive above potential snow and seasonal flood conditions.
Electrical Installation
Electrical work must be performed by a licensed and qualified electrician. Follow all local and national electrical codes and carefully verify positive and negative connections at the DC disconnect and Fhoton™ controller. A GFCI is required, and power must always be disconnected when swimmers are present.
Anchoring
Two anchoring lines are attached to the Boilermaker's eyebolts. Weighted anchors such as 30-pound weights, concrete blocks, or suitable tethers are used to hold the unit in position. The anchoring components are not included with the solar system.
Maintenance & Winter Operation
Solar Panel Maintenance
Keep obstructions clear from the solar array throughout the year. To maintain solar performance, periodically clean the photovoltaic panels using water only.
Routine Aerator Maintenance
The Boilermaker requires little routine maintenance under normal operating conditions. When the unit is removed from the water, wash it with high-pressure water and inspect the unit to make sure debris is not restricting water flow.
Winter Operation
The manufacturer recommends leaving the Boilermaker in the water during winter. Turn off the power supply during freezing conditions and restore power after the water thaws. The system components are designed to withstand sub-zero conditions without damage.
Anchoring Line Replacement
Quality nylon anchoring rope should be inspected regularly and replaced every five years when 3/8-inch or thicker nylon rope is used.
Warranty
5-Year Motor Warranty
The motor is covered by a 5-year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions.
Other product components are covered by a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
