Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
Select the correct motor configuration and cord length for your installation before ordering. The Gusher uses 230V motors for the 2 HP and 3 HP commercial configurations. A GFCI is required, and the manufacturer recommends using a licensed electrical contractor. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power whenever swimmers are present.
Scott Aerator Gusher Fountain For Large, Commercial Ponds
The Gusher Fountain is built for large commercial ponds and water features where a tall, highly visible display and continuous water circulation are important. Its dense, cascading geyser pattern creates a strong vertical display while moving water through the pond and adding oxygen to the water.
The large Gusher is available with 2 HP and 3 HP oil-free stainless steel submersible motors. The 2 HP model produces up to a 40-foot spray pattern, while the 3 HP model reaches up to 50 feet. Both configurations are designed for 24-hour operation, require no routine oil changes, and can be used in fresh or salt water.
Configuration Guide
Gusher Fountain 2 HP
The 2 HP configuration uses a 230V oil-free submersible motor and produces approximately 130 gallons per minute. Its spray pattern reaches up to 40 feet in height.
The 2 HP model requires a minimum pond depth of 56 inches and uses two 45-pound weights or concrete blocks for anchoring.
A 100-foot, 10-gauge submersible power cord is supplied as standard, with longer cord lengths available.
Gusher Fountain 3 HP
The 3 HP configuration uses a 230V oil-free submersible motor and produces approximately 170 gallons per minute. Its spray pattern reaches up to 50 feet in height.
The 3 HP model requires a minimum pond depth of 60 inches and uses two 55-pound weights or concrete blocks for anchoring.
A 100-foot, 10-gauge submersible power cord is supplied as standard, with longer cord lengths available.
Lighting Options
Light kits can be added to the Gusher Fountain at the time of purchase or added later. Available options include programmable color-changing LED two-light and four-light sets, as well as LED Night Glo two-light and four-light sets.
Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Included Components
The fountain assembly includes the float platform, pump assembly, stainless steel filter, stainless steel bolts, nuts, washers, and screws required for assembly. Nylon anchoring rope is not included.
Assembly
Assembly involves securing the float platform to the fountain housing, installing the stainless steel filter, attaching nylon anchoring lines to the stainless steel eye bolts, and installing the fountain head after the unit is placed in the water.
Anchoring
The fountain uses two nylon anchoring lines attached to the stainless steel eye bolts. The 2 HP model requires two 45-pound weights or concrete blocks, while the 3 HP model requires two 55-pound weights or concrete blocks. Anchors should be submerged at least 20 feet apart. Anchoring ropes are not included.
Electrical Installation
A GFCI is required for operation. The manufacturer recommends using a licensed electrical contractor. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor. Proper cable size and maximum cable length must be selected according to the motor configuration and installation distance.
Maintenance & Winter Operation
Routine Maintenance
The Gusher Fountain is designed to require very little routine maintenance. When the fountain is removed from the water, the manufacturer recommends washing it with high-pressure water and visually inspecting the unit to make sure nothing is restricting water flow.
Anchoring Rope Replacement
Quality nylon anchoring rope can deteriorate over time. The manufacturer recommends replacing 3/8-inch or thicker nylon anchoring rope every five years.
Winter Operation
The manufacturer recommends leaving the fountain in the water during winter rather than removing it. Turn off the power supply during freezing conditions and restore power after the water thaws. The fountain components are designed to withstand sub-zero conditions.
Oil-Free Motor
The stainless steel submersible motor is oil-free, eliminating the need for oil changes. The design also avoids the need for a separate control box.
Warranty
5-Year Motor Warranty
Scott Aerator states that its fountains carry an unconditional 5-year motor warranty. Warranty coverage is subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.
