Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
Select the correct motor voltage and power configuration for your installation. A GFCI is required, and the manufacturer recommends that the unit be connected according to applicable electrical requirements. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power whenever swimmers are present.
Scott Aerator Dock Mount De-Icer
The Scott Aerator Dock Mount De-Icer helps protect docks, boats, pilings, marinas, boathouses, and other waterfront structures from damaging winter ice. By circulating warmer water from below the surface upward, the de-icer helps keep water moving around protected areas and reduces the conditions that allow ice to build up around dock structures.
The Dock Mount De-Icer uses an oil-free, fully submersible motor with a 3,450 RPM operating speed. Motor options range from 1/3 HP through 1 HP, with flow rates from 300 to 500 gallons per minute. The standard dock plate provides a secure mounting point, while optional mounting systems are available for different dock and waterfront configurations.
Configuration Guide
Dock Mount De-Icer 1/3 HP
Available in 115V or 230V configurations with a 300 GPM flow rate and a 40-foot flow distance. The motor operates at 3,450 RPM.

Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Standard Dock Plate
The standard stainless steel dock plate provides the mounting point for the Dock Mount De-Icer. It can be secured to a suitable wooden or metal dock after confirming that the dock framing is strong enough to accept the mounting hardware.
Positioning
For dock mounting, the installation guide recommends positioning the De-Icer 12 to 18 inches below the water surface for optimum performance. The housing angle and direction can be adjusted as needed, with approximately 45 degrees upward toward the surface recommended for water flow.
Depth Adjustment
The stainless steel pole allows the unit to be raised or lowered for changing water levels. Loosen the two dock plate thumb screws, adjust the De-Icer to the desired position, and retighten the screws securely.
Electrical Installation
Power should be supplied through a GFCI-protected receptacle. Extension cords should not be used to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power when swimmers are present.
Included Components
The dock-mount assembly includes the De-Icer housing assembly, stainless steel pole, dock plate, lubricating compound, two stainless steel thumb screws, four stainless steel washers, and four stainless steel screws.
Mounting Options & Accessories
Dock Post Bracket
The optional dock post bracket provides an alternative mounting solution for round metal dock posts. The bracket fits posts up to 2-1/2 inches in diameter and can accommodate larger U-clamp rings up to 4 inches in diameter.
Truss Mount
The optional truss mount is designed for metal docks and similar framing where a different mounting method is needed. It replaces the standard dock plate.
Tripod Mount
The optional tripod mount allows the De-Icer to be positioned directly on the lake or pond bottom where dock mounting is not practical. This provides another installation option for areas such as boat lifts, swim areas, marinas, and other waterfront locations.
Quick Release Adapter
The optional quick release adapter allows the De-Icer to be repositioned between multiple dock mounting plates and can make seasonal removal more convenient.
Oscillator
The optional programmable oscillator automatically changes the direction of the De-Icer. The system can rotate in 20-degree increments every 20 minutes and allows the desired sweep range to be programmed for broader water circulation.
Maintenance & Winter Operation
Routine Maintenance
The De-Icer requires little to no routine maintenance under normal operating conditions. When the unit is removed from the water, the manufacturer recommends washing it with high-pressure water and visually inspecting the complete unit to make sure nothing is restricting water flow.
Propeller Replacement
As a general maintenance guideline, the manufacturer recommends replacing the De-Icer propeller assembly approximately every three years. This can be performed on-site as part of routine service.
Storage
If the De-Icer is removed from the lake or pond, the manufacturer states that the pump should be stored submerged in a 5-gallon bucket of water to help prevent damage to the pump seals.
Thumb Screw Lubrication
The dock plate thumb screws are supplied with a stainless-steel lubricating compound. Periodic lubrication of the thumb screws is required for proper operation and for warranty validation according to the installation guide.
Warranty & Safety
5-Year Motor Warranty
Standard Scott Aerator products are covered by a 5-year warranty against motor defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions.
Other product components are covered by a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
Electrical Safety
A GFCI is required. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power when swimmers are present and follow applicable electrical installation requirements.
