A Note Before You Order

Choose the correct voltage for your installation. The compressor must be connected to a GFCI-protected outlet, and the manufacturer advises against using an extension cord. Provide a suitable weather-protected, ventilated location for the compressor and always disconnect power before servicing the system.

Scott Aerator Bubble Pro Mini Subsurface Aerator

The Bubble Pro Mini is a subsurface aeration system designed to improve oxygen levels and water circulation while keeping the equipment largely out of sight. Instead of creating a surface fountain, the system sends air through weighted tubing to a diffuser positioned below the water surface.

As air passes through the diffuser, thousands of small bubbles rise through the water column. This upward movement draws deeper water toward the surface, where oxygen is replenished. The Bubble Pro Mini includes a 1/4 HP rocking-piston compressor, one diffuser, 100 feet of 3/8-inch weighted tubing, an air outlet assembly with pressure relief, and the fittings and clamps needed for installation.

Configuration & Coverage Guide

Bubble Pro Mini 115V

The 115V configuration is designed for installations using a 115-volt power supply. It includes the 1/4 HP rocking-piston compressor, one diffuser, 100 feet of weighted tubing, air outlet assembly, and required fittings and clamps.

Bubble Pro Mini 230V

The 230V configuration provides the same Bubble Pro Mini aeration system with a compressor configured for 230-volt power. This version is identified by MPN 44050.23.

Installation & Assembly

Included Components

The Bubble Pro Mini kit includes one 1/4 HP compressor, one self-weighted diffuser base, one diffuser membrane, one 100-foot roll of 3/8-inch self-weighted air tubing, one single valve assembly, one barbed check valve fitting, two hose clamps, and one padded hose clamp.

Diffuser Placement

The diffuser should not be positioned at the absolute deepest point of the pond. The installation guide recommends placing it at approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of the deepest point. This helps maintain a cooler area in summer and warmer water during winter.

Compressor Placement

The compressor should be protected from rain, snow, and other harsh weather while remaining in a well-ventilated shelter. It should not sit directly on the ground, and the installation guide recommends keeping it away from locations where flooding can occur. Shaded areas are preferred when practical.

Summer Start-Up

If the pond is already stratified, the manufacturer recommends starting the system gradually. Begin with one to two hours on the first day and increase daily operating time by one to two hours during the first week before moving to continuous operation. This gradual startup helps avoid rapidly mixing stagnant bottom water.

Maintenance & Winter Operation

Routine Maintenance

The oil-free compressor is designed for continuous operation. Routine maintenance consists primarily of keeping the filter clean and replacing wearable components such as the diaphragm, piston ring, or vanes when required. The compressor should never be oiled or lubricated.

Winter Operation

The Bubble Pro Mini can be used as a winter de-icer. In freezing climates, the weighted tubing leading into the pond should be buried so ice does not form around the tubing and damage or kink the line. Use caution around ice because aeration currents can create thin ice away from the diffuser.

Service Precautions

Always disconnect power before servicing the system and relieve pressure from the air system before performing maintenance. The compressor surface becomes hot during operation, so allow it to cool before handling.

Warranty

2-Year Warranty

The Bubble Pro Mini is covered by a two-year warranty. Coverage is subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question Answer
What does the Bubble Pro Mini do? It uses a subsurface diffuser to introduce air into the pond, creating an upward current that circulates deeper water toward the surface and helps replenish oxygen.
How much pond area can it cover? Coverage depends on diffuser depth. The Bubble Pro Mini is rated for approximately 1/4 acre at 5 to 8 feet, 1/2 acre at 9 to 12 feet, and up to 1 acre at 13 to 16 feet.
What voltage options are available? The Bubble Pro Mini is available in 115V and 230V configurations.
How much tubing is included? The kit includes 100 feet of 3/8-inch Quick-Sink weighted tubing.
How many diffusers are included? The Bubble Pro Mini includes one diffuser.
Can it run continuously? Yes. The compressor is designed for continuous operation, and the manufacturer recommends continuous operation to maintain circulation after the system has been properly started.
Can the Bubble Pro Mini be used in winter? Yes. The system can also be used as a winter de-icer. Extra caution is required because aeration can create thin ice around and away from the diffuser.
Does the compressor need protection from weather? Yes. The compressor should be installed in a weather-protected, adequately ventilated location and should not sit directly on the ground.
Is a GFCI required? Yes. The installation guide specifies that the system must be connected to a GFCI-protected outlet.
Can I use an extension cord? The manufacturer advises against using extension cords to operate the compressor.
