Scott Aerator Boilermaker for Large, Commercial Ponds

The Boilermaker for large, commercial ponds is a high-volume floating surface aerator built for larger ponds and lakes where strong water circulation and oxygen transfer are the primary goals. Its low-profile design creates a broad, highly aerated boil effect while keeping the vertical spray display to a minimum.

Available with 2 HP or 3 HP oil-free stainless steel submersible motors, the Boilermaker moves up to 700 or 800 gallons of water per minute. Both configurations are designed for continuous operation, fresh or salt water use, and ponds greater than 1/2 acre. The unit can also remain in place during winter, with power shut off during freezing conditions and restored after the water thaws.

Configuration Guide

Boilermaker 2 HP

The 2 HP configuration uses a 230V oil-free motor and delivers a 700 GPM flow rate. It operates at 60 Hz, single phase, and 3,450 RPM, with a 10-amp current draw at 230V.

The 2 HP model includes a 100-foot, 10-gauge submersible power cord and requires a minimum pond depth of 42 inches. Two 45-pound weights or concrete blocks are required for anchoring.

Boilermaker 3 HP

The 3 HP configuration uses a 230V oil-free motor and delivers an 800 GPM flow rate. It operates at 60 Hz, single phase, and 3,450 RPM, with a 13.3-amp current draw at 230V.

The 3 HP model includes a 100-foot, 10-gauge submersible power cord and requires a minimum pond depth of 42 inches. Two 55-pound weights or concrete blocks are required for anchoring.

Installation & Assembly

Anchoring

The Boilermaker is secured using two nylon anchoring ropes attached to the unit. Weighted anchors or concrete blocks are placed on the pond bottom to hold the aerator in position. The 2 HP model requires two 45-pound weights or equivalent concrete blocks, while the 3 HP model requires two 55-pound weights or equivalent concrete blocks. Anchoring ropes and weights are not included.

Electrical Installation

A GFCI is required for operation. The Boilermaker should be installed according to applicable electrical requirements, and power must be disconnected whenever swimmers are present. The standard large commercial configurations use 230V power.

Power Cord

Each 2 HP and 3 HP configuration includes a 100-foot, 10-gauge submersible power cord. Longer power cord lengths can be ordered when required for the installation.

Maintenance & Winter Operation

Routine Maintenance

The oil-free submersible motor does not require oil changes, and the manufacturer describes the Boilermaker as requiring no routine maintenance. When the unit is removed from the water, inspect the aerator and clear any debris that could interfere with water movement.

Winter Operation

The Boilermaker can remain in the pond during winter. Shut off the power during freezing conditions and leave the unit in place. Once the water thaws, restore power and resume operation. The unit is designed to withstand subzero conditions without damage.

Winter De-Icing

The Boilermaker can also provide pond de-icing during winter operation. Its water movement can help maintain open water around the aerator when operated under appropriate conditions.

Warranty

5-Year Motor Warranty

The oil-free motor is covered by an unconditional 5-year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions.

Other product components are covered by a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
