A Note Before You Order

Select the correct motor voltage and cord configuration for your installation. A GFCI is required, and power must always be disconnected whenever swimmers are present. For 115V installations, the manufacturer states that the distance from the main breaker to the aerator should not exceed 100 feet. If the distance is greater, select a 230V motor configuration. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor.

Scott Aerator Boilermaker Surface Aerator for Medium, Residential Ponds

The Boilermaker for medium residential ponds is a floating surface aerator built to circulate large volumes of water while transferring oxygen throughout the pond. Its low-profile design creates a broad, highly aerated boil without producing a tall spray pattern, making it suited to pond owners focused on circulation and oxygen transfer.

Medium residential configurations are available with 1 HP and 1.5 HP oil-free motors. The 1 HP version is offered in 115V or 230V, while the 1.5 HP model uses 230V power. The units are designed for continuous operation, approved for salt water, and can remain in the pond during winter when the power is turned off during freezing conditions.

Configuration Guide

Boilermaker 1 HP 115V

The 1 HP 115V configuration uses an oil-free, single-phase motor operating at 3,450 RPM with an 11.5 amp current draw and a 500 GPM flow rate.

This configuration includes a 70-foot, 10-gauge submersible power cord with plug and requires a minimum pond depth of 36 inches. It is intended for ponds greater than 1/8 acre.

Boilermaker 1 HP 230V

The 1 HP 230V configuration uses an oil-free, single-phase motor operating at 3,450 RPM with an 8.2 amp current draw and a 500 GPM flow rate.

The unit includes a 70-foot, 12-gauge submersible power cord, with longer cord lengths available. A minimum pond depth of 36 inches is required, and the configuration is intended for ponds greater than 1/8 acre.

Boilermaker 1.5 HP 230V

The 1.5 HP 230V configuration provides a 600 GPM flow rate and uses an oil-free, single-phase motor operating at 3,450 RPM with a 6.2 amp current draw.

This configuration includes a 100-foot, 12-gauge submersible power cord, with longer cord lengths available. A minimum pond depth of 38 inches is required, and the configuration is intended for ponds greater than 1/4 acre.

Winter Operation

The Boilermaker can remain in the pond during winter. Turn off the power supply during freezing conditions and restore power after the water thaws. The manufacturer states that the unit components are designed to withstand sub-zero conditions.

Winter De-Icing

The Boilermaker can also help maintain open water around the aerator during winter. When used during freezing conditions, follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding power operation and swimmer safety.
