Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
Select the correct motor voltage and power configuration before purchasing. For proper operation of the 115V motor, the distance from the main breaker to the fountain should not exceed 100 feet. If the installation requires a greater distance, select a 230V motor and use the appropriate cable size for the installation. A GFCI is required, and the manufacturer recommends using a licensed electrical contractor. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power when swimmers are present.
Scott Aerator Skyward Fountain for Small, Residential Ponds
The Skyward Fountain is a decorative pond fountain designed for smaller residential ponds. Its 1/2 HP motor produces a cone-shaped spray with a tall center jet, creating a 20-foot-high by 30-foot-wide display that can be adjusted for spray height.
The fountain uses an all-brass, precision-machined nozzle and an oil-free stainless steel submersible motor. Along with creating a visible water display, the fountain circulates water and helps increase oxygen levels throughout the pond. Optional LED light sets can be added for nighttime operation.
The Skyward is designed for fresh or salt water and can operate continuously. The stainless steel motor requires no oil changes and the fountain does not require a control box. The unit is made in the USA and includes a 5-year motor warranty.
Configuration Guide
1/2 HP 115V
The 1/2 HP 115V Skyward Fountain uses a single-phase, 60 Hz motor operating at 3,450 RPM with a 50 GPM flow rate. The supplied power cord is 70 feet long, 12-gauge, submersible, and includes a plug.
For proper operation, the distance from the main breaker to the fountain should not exceed 100 feet.
1/2 HP 230V
The 1/2 HP 230V Skyward Fountain uses a single-phase, 60 Hz motor operating at 3,450 RPM with a 50 GPM flow rate. The supplied power cord is 70 feet long and 12-gauge submersible cable.
The 230V configuration is suitable for installations where the required distance from the main breaker exceeds the recommended range for the 115V configuration, provided the correct cable size is used.
Optional LED Lighting
LED light sets can be added to the Skyward Fountain at the time of purchase or later. Lighting provides an illuminated display after dark and is available in multiple configurations.
Anchoring Requirements
Two nylon anchoring lines and two weighted anchors are required. The anchors should be positioned on the pond bottom at least 20 feet apart. Anchoring ropes and weights are not included with the fountain.
Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Included Components
The fountain assembly includes the float platform, pump assembly, stainless steel filter, stainless steel bolts, nuts, washers, and stainless steel screws. A 5/16-inch wrench or socket driver and two 1/2-inch wrenches or pliers are the recommended assembly tools.
Float & Filter Assembly
The float is secured to the fountain housing with the supplied stainless steel hardware. The stainless steel filter is installed underneath the fountain and secured with the supplied screws. Care should be taken not to place the weight of the fountain directly on the filter during handling.
Anchoring
Two nylon ropes attach to the stainless steel eye bolts and serve as the anchoring lines. The fountain can be secured to shore or anchored with two submerged concrete blocks positioned at least 20 feet apart. Nylon rope and concrete blocks are not included.
Electrical Installation
A GFCI is required for operation. The installation instructions recommend using a licensed electrical contractor. Never use an extension cord to supply power to the motor, and always disconnect power when swimmers are present.
Maintenance & Winter Operation
Routine Maintenance
The Skyward requires little routine maintenance under normal operating conditions. When the fountain is removed from the water, wash the unit with high-pressure water and inspect the entire fountain to make sure nothing is restricting water flow.
Anchoring Rope Replacement
Quality nylon anchoring rope measuring 3/8 inch or thicker should be replaced approximately every five years. Inspect the ropes periodically for deterioration or wear.
Winter Operation
The manufacturer recommends leaving the fountain in the water during winter rather than removing it. Turn off the power supply while the water is frozen and restore power after the water thaws. The fountain components are designed to withstand sub-zero conditions.
Warranty
5-Year Motor Warranty
The Skyward Fountain includes a 5-year motor warranty. The manufacturer states that its fountains carry an unconditional 5-year motor warranty.
Warranty coverage remains subject to the manufacturer's applicable warranty terms and conditions.
