Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
The Skyward Fountain uses a 230V motor and requires a GFCI-protected electrical installation. Select the correct motor and power cable length for your installation before ordering. The manufacturer recommends using a licensed electrical contractor and specifically states that an extension cord should not be used to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power when swimmers are present.
Scott Aerator Skyward Fountain For Large, Commercial Ponds
The Scott Aerator Skyward is a large-pond display fountain designed to combine water movement with a prominent center stream and wide side spray pattern. Available with 2 HP and 3 HP motors, the Skyward creates a tall central column of water while spreading water outward across a broad area of the pond.
The 2 HP model produces a center stream reaching up to 45 feet with side jets extending approximately 60 feet in diameter. The 3 HP model reaches up to 50 feet in the center with a side spray pattern approximately 70 feet in diameter. Both configurations use oil-free stainless steel submersible motors, are designed for continuous operation, and are approved for saltwater applications.
Configuration Guide
Skyward 2 HP
The 2 HP configuration uses a 230V oil-free motor and delivers approximately 135 gallons per minute. The center stream reaches up to 45 feet, while the angled side jets create a spray pattern approximately 60 feet in diameter.
A minimum pond depth of 54 inches is required for the 2 HP model.
Skyward 3 HP
The 3 HP configuration uses a 230V oil-free motor and delivers approximately 175 gallons per minute. The center stream reaches up to 50 feet, while the angled side jets create a spray pattern approximately 70 feet in diameter.
A minimum pond depth of 64 inches is required for the 3 HP model.
Lighting Options
The Skyward can be ordered without lights or with optional LED lighting. Available choices include two-light or four-light color-changing LED sets and two-light or four-light LED Night Glo sets.
Power Cable Options
The Skyward is available with multiple power cable lengths, including 100, 150, 200, and 250 feet depending on the selected configuration. Longer cable options are available for installations where the power source is farther from the fountain.
Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Included Components
The fountain assembly includes the float platform, pump assembly, stainless steel filter, stainless steel bolts, nuts, washers, and stainless steel screws required for assembly.
Assembly
Assembly involves securing the float to the fountain housing, installing the stainless steel filter, attaching nylon anchoring lines to the stainless steel eye bolts, and fitting the fountain head before placing the unit in the water.
Anchoring
Two nylon anchoring lines attach to the fountain eye bolts. The lines can be secured to shore or attached to submerged concrete blocks positioned at least 20 feet apart. Anchoring ropes and weights are not included.
Electrical Installation
A GFCI is required. The manufacturer recommends using a licensed electrical contractor and specifically states that an extension cord should not be used to supply power to the motor. Power must always be disconnected when swimmers are present.
Maintenance & Winter Operation
Routine Maintenance
The Skyward requires little routine maintenance under normal operating conditions. When the fountain is removed from the water, the manufacturer recommends washing it with high-pressure water and visually inspecting the unit to make sure nothing is restricting water flow.
Anchoring Rope Replacement
Anchoring ropes can deteriorate over time. When quality nylon rope measuring 3/8 inch or thicker is used, the manufacturer recommends replacing the anchoring ropes every five years.
Winter Operation
Scott Aerator designs its water features to avoid time-consuming winterizing procedures. Follow the manufacturer's operating and electrical guidance for freezing conditions and never operate the fountain when ice or other conditions could create an unsafe situation.
Power Cable Sizing
The correct cable size and maximum cable length depend on the motor configuration. The manufacturer's motor specification chart should be used when planning longer electrical runs. The listed distances are measured from the pump motor to the circuit breaker.
Warranty
5-Year Motor Warranty
The Skyward motor is covered by an unconditional 5-year motor warranty from Scott Aerator.
Warranty coverage remains subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.
