Quick Facts
A Note Before You Order
Select the correct motor voltage for your installation. A GFCI is required, and Scott Aerator recommends using a licensed electrical contractor for the electrical connection. Do not use an extension cord to supply power to the motor. Always disconnect power whenever swimmers are present. The 1 HP model is available in 115V or 230V, while the 1.5 HP model requires 230V power.
Scott Aerator DA-20 Display Aerator for Medium, Residential Ponds
The DA-20 Display Aerator is designed for medium-sized residential ponds where strong water movement and an attractive fountain display are both important. Its trumpet-shaped spray moves up to 500 gallons of water per minute with the 1 HP configuration and up to 600 gallons per minute with the 1.5 HP configuration, while adding oxygen to the pond.
The 1 HP DA-20 produces a spray approximately 7 feet high and 25 feet wide, while the 1.5 HP model produces a spray approximately 10 feet high and 25 feet wide. The oil-free stainless steel submersible motor is designed for continuous operation and is approved for fresh and salt water. Optional light kits can also be added to create a nighttime display.

DA-20 1 HP
Available in 115V or 230V with a 500 GPM flow rate. The 1 HP model produces a spray approximately 7 feet high and 25 feet wide.
The 1 HP configuration is intended for ponds greater than 1/8 acre and requires a minimum water depth of 36 inches. The 115V version includes a 70-foot, 10-gauge submersible power cord with plug, while the 230V version includes a 70-foot, 12-gauge submersible power cord.
DA-20 1.5 HP

Specifications & Details
Installation & Assembly
Included Components
The assembly includes the float platform, motor assembly, stainless steel debris shield, and three self-tapping screws. The assembly instructions call for a 3/8-inch wrench or socket screwdriver and two 1/2-inch wrenches or pliers.
Weighted Anchoring
Two 3/8-inch or thicker nylon anchoring lines attach to the unit's two eyebolts. For weighted anchoring, the lines extend outward approximately 25 feet at a 45-degree angle. The weighted anchors are positioned on the pond bottom at least 25 feet apart. Anchor weights are not included.
Shoreline Anchoring
The DA-20 can also be anchored from shore using two 3/8-inch or thicker nylon lines. The manufacturer recommends auger-style earth anchors or posts for shoreline anchoring. Anchoring ropes and shoreline anchors are not included.
Electrical Installation
A GFCI is required for operation, and Scott Aerator recommends using a licensed electrical contractor. The manufacturer specifically states that an extension cord should not be used to supply power to the motor. Proper cable sizing is important to maintain safe operating conditions and protect the motor.
Maintenance & Winter Operation
Routine Maintenance
The DA-20 requires very little routine maintenance under normal operating conditions. Scott Aerator recommends changing the propeller assembly about every five years and replacing quality nylon anchoring rope at five-year intervals when 3/8-inch or thicker rope is used.
Cleaning & Inspection
When the unit is removed from the water for service, wash it with high-pressure water and visually inspect the aerator to make sure debris or other material is not restricting water flow.
Winter Operation
The DA-20 is designed to remain in the water throughout winter. Scott Aerator recommends turning off the power supply during freezing conditions rather than removing the aerator. Once the water thaws in spring, restore power to the unit. The components are designed to withstand sub-zero conditions without damage.
Warranty
5-Year Motor Warranty
Standard Scott Aerator products are unconditionally warranted for five years against motor defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions.
Other product components are covered by a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
