Select the correct motor voltage for your installation. A GFCI is required, and the manufacturer recommends using a licensed electrical contractor. For 115V installations, the distance from the main breaker to the fountain should not exceed 100 feet.

Scott Aerator Amherst Fountain for Small, Residential Ponds

The Amherst Fountain brings a classic three-tier display to small residential ponds, creating a defined water pattern with a prominent center column. Its traditional fountain design provides a strong visual focal point while circulating water through the pond.

The small residential Amherst is available with 1/2 HP and 3/4 HP oil-free stainless steel submersible motors in 115V or 230V configurations. The 1/2 HP version produces a spray pattern measuring approximately 8 feet by 15 feet, while the 3/4 HP version produces a pattern measuring approximately 10 feet by 20 feet.

The fountain is designed for fresh or salt water and can operate continuously. Optional light sets can be added to create a nighttime display. The unit is also designed for winter operation without removing the fountain from the pond.

Installation & Assembly

Included Components

The assembly kit includes one float platform, one pump assembly, one stainless steel filter, two stainless steel bolts, stainless steel nuts and washers, and three stainless steel screws.

Anchoring

Two nylon anchoring lines attach to the fountain's stainless steel eye bolts. The fountain can be secured to shore or anchored using two concrete blocks submerged at least 20 feet apart. Anchoring rope and weights are not included.

Electrical Installation

A GFCI is required for operation. The manufacturer recommends using a licensed electrical contractor. An extension cord must not be used to supply power to the motor.

Final Assembly

After the fountain is positioned in the water, attach the fountain head, secure the anchoring lines, and complete the electrical connection. Take care not to place the fountain's weight on the stainless steel filter during handling.

Maintenance & Winter Operation

Routine Maintenance

The Amherst Fountain requires very little routine maintenance under normal operating conditions. When the fountain is removed from the water, wash it with high-pressure water and visually inspect the unit to make sure nothing is restricting water flow.

Winter Operation

The manufacturer recommends leaving the fountain in the water during winter. Turn off the power supply during freezing conditions and restore power after the water thaws. The fountain components are designed to withstand sub-zero conditions without damage.

Anchoring Line Replacement

Quality nylon anchoring rope measuring 3/8 inch or thicker should be replaced approximately every five years. This is also a suitable time to clean and inspect the fountain.

Warranty

5-Year Motor Warranty

The Amherst Fountain includes a 5-year motor warranty. Warranty coverage is subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
